In May 2022, Tony Brown and Mike Buse produced a series of maps detailing the L & B trackbed between Barnstaple and Wistlandpound showing the ownership of each section. As of May 2026, these have been updated to include recent acquisitions.
As of March 2023, of the 15.43 km (9.58 miles) between Pilton and Wistlandpound, 4.87 km / 3.02 mi (31.6%) was owned by Exmoor Associates, 0.98 km / 0.60 mi (6.37%) by the L&B CIC, 1.24 km / 0.77 mi (18.05%) by statutory authorities.
