In May 2022, Tony Brown and Mike Buse produced a series of maps detailing the L & B trackbed between Barnstaple and Wistlandpound showing the ownership of each section. As of March 2023, these have been updated to include recent acquisitions. Of the 15.43 km (9.58 miles) between Pilton and Wistlandpound, 4.87 km / 3.02 mi (31.6%) is owned by Exmoor Associates, 0.98 km / 0.60 mi (6.37%) by the L&B CIC, 1.24 km / 0.77 mi (18.05%) by statutory authorities. The remaining 8.33 km / 5.17 mi (53.98%) is privately owned.
