Work Progress: May 2017

First a reminder that our biannual Shareholder’s Meeting will be held from 10am at Goodleigh Village Hall on Saturday 13^th May. The meeting is open to EA Shareholders along with any other interested persons who would like to come along and meet us. Please view the ‘Notice of the Shareholders Meeting‘ for further information.

Not mentioned previously, we are attempting to organise another of our customary trackbed walks following the meeting. On this occasion we are hoping this will be along the trackbed between Wistlandpound and Blackmoor. However for various reasons concerning access to the property confirmation cannot be given until the Shareholders Meeting, so please bring heavy waterproof shoes or boots in anticipation.

(2) Recent work sessions have been devoted to tidying up our Snapper Halt station site in preparation for the invasion of visitors next weekend during the L&BR Trust’s ‘Spring Gala’. Photo: Barry Marshall

(5) It takes considerable effort and money to maintain a lengthy tidy trackbed. Exmoor Associates has a remit that prevents using funds raised from shareholders for anything other than procuring the old L&BR trackbed as and when it becomes available. Thus the company is unable to fund directly for example, the cost of fuel or even the cost of maintaining the essential machinery. In conclusion, a final reminder to everyone intending to attend our meeting on Saturday 13th May PLEASE email Tony Brown if you would like lunch as we need to know the numbers for catering. Likewise let us know of any special dietary requirements or vegetarian meal options.
