Shareholders vote on the trackbed for the L&BR Extension

Following unanimous support at Saturday’s Shareholder’s meeting, the Exmoor Associates directors have agreed that two sections of trackbed will be leased to the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway for a nominal sum. Obviously full details are yet to be agreed but agreement in principle is now established.

Once formal agreement is concluded the trackbed will be readily available to the L&BR to rebuild the line 4½ miles beyond Killington Lane to Wistlandpound. The Exmoor Associate owned sections which have received shareholder agreement for leasing are Higher Bodley between Bridge 65 and Bridge 63, and Bridwick Farm between the railway’s former station at Blackmoor and Bridge 53.
