Trackbed Walk & Annual Meeting

On Sunday 10th May 2009, Exmoor Associates shareholders had their annual meeting, which was again held this year at Hunters Inn. The weather was wonderful, the meeting was most productive, and the food and lunchtime was spot on. Our thanks once again to the staff and owners of Hunters Inn for their hospitality. A mini newsletter (number 7b) has now been posted to all shareholders and subscribers with a summery of all that was said during the meeting.

In the afternoon, we reassembled at Chelfham Station from where we commenced a trackbed walk. This walk was to Chumhill, including Loxhore bank, Bratton Cross bridge, and the site of the Chumhill accident in railway days. The weather continued to be excellent and photos are posted below as a taster for those who were unable to be there.

We always conducted a guided walk on a different section of trackbed at least once a year. We do hope that we will be able to increase this to slightly more regularly where possible to give more people the opportunity to see private sections of the route with the land owners’ permission.

If you’re interested in coming with us next time, why not get involved and become supporter? Supporters are sent newsletters usually a couple of times a year and are kept up to date on any plans for future trackbed walks as well as all other activities of Exmoor Associates.
